Week 30

Christmas tree on 12/12/2025

Week 30 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

Christmas is right around the corner! Last year, I made a rack of lamb for Drew and me. I think I will make that again. We’ve been checking items off our baby registry too – we now own diapers and baby bottles! Time is flying by and we can’t believe our baby will be here in about two months.

I am making these Christmas nuts to send to Drew’s parents and his brothers’ family. They’re vegan, delicious, and hopefully they ship nicely!

Week 29

Kayla and Louie at work on 12/1/2025

Week 29 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

My baby bump has officially popped – meaning, my pants are feeling extra tight! I am still working out five days a week. Moving around great and no swelling or cramping. Work is keeping Drew and me very busy. Both Pryda and Louie steal my maternity pillow every chance they get.

It’s very cold in Colorado so I’ve been craving a warm, soul food type meal. My fried chicken sandwiches never disappoint. Drew always eats 2 sandwiches!

Week 28

Drew and Kayla at the Bellagio Christmas Exhibit on 11/26/2025

Week 28 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

Drew and I flew out to Las Vegas for the Thanksgiving holiday. We met Drew’s parents, his brother, and his niece and nephew. We went to the Sphere to see the original Wizard of Oz movie. The Sphere was an incredible experience. Gloria cooked a beautiful Thanksgiving feast. Louie stayed with my mom and was a good granddog. We are officially in the third trimester and can’t wait to meet our little one!

I keep dreaming about Slow Cooker Pepperoncini Pot Roast sliders. The weather is cooling down a little bit and Drew and I are looking forward to the fall season. We want to spend more time hiking in Estes or Lyon with Louie

Week 27

Drew, Pryda and Louie on 11/16/2025

Week 27 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

We’ll be spending Thanksgiving in Las Vegas this year. Christmas will hopefully be spent at home. I am researching a soup kitchen to volunteer at this Christmas. This is a tradition I want my kids to grow up doing, so I thought Drew and I would start this year! I can’t believe the holidays are just around the corner. I know it’s going to be painful going through this first year of holidays without my dad. Its unbearable to think about. I miss him so much and I wish he could see this phase of my life. I think he would be proud.

Beef stew is on the menu this week! It is getting cold. Drew is bundling up more for work and I just pulled out all of the summer flowers in exchange for the artificial evergreen trees in our front pots. This is the perfect meal to warm us up!

Week 26

Drew and Louie 11/12/2025

Week 26 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

I passed my pregnancy glucose test! I was worried about this test – I’ve been enjoying too many gummy bears, oops. But my results say me and baby are perfectly healthy. The baby is kicking all the time. It scares me sometimes because the kicks are getting stronger and stronger!

Salty, sweet, sticky and smoking – this recipe has it all. And it hits the spot on a cold day. Char Sui is delicious on rice, rice noodles, or lettuce wraps. I made two batches of this, so I have some for the freezer when the baby gets here!

Week 25

Hallway Project on 11/2/2025

Week 25 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

Megan, Mike, Drew and my mom came over to help me with another house project. This has been a dream of mine since we moved in and I am so happy with it! We added these wood planks to the master hallway (light strips were a non-negotiable!). We still need to add the ceiling planks. Drew wants to do this same project to the guest room/baby room hallway. Our house has come such a long way since we moved in March 2023.

Week 24

Children’s book on 10/26/2025

Week 24 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

Last year, way before we were expecting a baby, Drew came with the idea of making a kids book about the life of Pryda and Louie. It would be made of silly stories, showcasing their love/hate relationship as “brothers”. I decided to make bring this idea to life! The first draft of “Louie and Pryda’s Big Backyard Adventures” is complete. I am working on printing this into a physical book to put in the baby room.

Week 23

Baby Room on 10/22/2025

Week 23 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

Our baby room is almost done! We need to add artwork, a nursing chair and Drew wants to add some faux exposed beams to the ceiling.

I am still going to Pilates class twice a week. I feel strong, but my balance is not the same! Me and baby are doing great and growing quickly. Once November comes around, I will have OB appointments every two weeks – which means we are definitely in the last half of pregnancy!

Megan and I got a craving for homemade bagels. This recipe is so good our leftovers were gone in under 24 hours! I need to make another batch to make into breakfast sandwiches to have on hand.

Week 22

Kayla’s Kangaroo Birthday Party on 10/19/2025

Week 22 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

This week is my 31st birthday! The family and Drew are taking me to bottle feed baby kangaroos (known as joey’s), and I couldn’t be more excited. Drew and I want to take photos of the kangaroos for our little joey’s room.

I am starting to think about meal prepping food for the freezer. I envision a freezer full of homemade delicious meals to get Drew I through the first couple weeks once the baby is here. Is there anything better than frozen homemade pizzas? Maybe this Calzone recipe! I am going to make a bunch with different fillings to have on hand.

Week 21

Anatomy scan on 10/5/2025

Week 21 out of 40 of Pregnancy!

We got to see baby again! The anatomy scan was fun for mom and dad, but the technician had a hard time getting good photos of baby because baby kept jumping around! Baby is measuring “perfectly” and has both arms and legs, and a healthy heartbeat.

Drew took me to a French bakery after our appointment, where we bought five different treats. It was the perfect morning.

Salty chips and sour candy have been a weakness this week. Time for a delicious and healthy meal – this Shrimp Creole recipe is both easy and tasty. Avoid Walmart for your shrimp purchases. These shrimps were found to have radioactive chemicals in their meat!
